This weekend was the time to finish assembly of the Backyard Botanical Garden.
At about the time that this photo was taken I said to my darling husband. "So what's taking so long?" My husband is a mechanic. He has worked on all manner of transportation vehicles. Yep- Planes, trains and automobiles. So naturally I thought he would have this baby whipped together in no time. (remember that statement from an earlier post- The backyard botanical takes two skilled workers 8 hours to complete.) Well it turns out it was pretty accurate. I had to help him on Sunday for 4 hours. He also worked on it on Saturday for a good 4-6 hours.
Assembly time:
Monday: 3 hours
Saturday: 4 hours
Sunday: 4 hours x 2 "skilled workers" - Ha-ha
Total assembly time 15 hours.
My husband would like to protest that after YEARS of reading blueprints that he thinks the manual -sucks big time. But hey it looks fantastic. - Yeah for great hubby's

This the the 1/2 load of what it will take to fill the Garden.
20 bags of Organic Soil (1/2 Miracle grow organic & half this other brand of organic soil)
3 bags peat moss
The play sand is for my daughters sandbox

All that is left is wood chips and maybe some hostas around the base to pretty it up.
Can't wait till the plants start coming in to our local greenhouses!
